چکیده
We show that if G1 and G2 are non-solvable groups, then no C1,τ action of $(G_{1}\times G_{2})*\mathbb {Z}$ on S1 is faithful for τ > 0. As a corollary, S an orientable surface complexity at least three the critical regularity arbitrary finite index subgroup mapping class group Mod(S) with respect to circle most one, thus strengthening result first two authors Baik.

8 C 1 actions of the mapping class group on the circle Kamlesh Parwani
Let S be a connected orientable surface with finitely many punctures, finitely many boundary components, and genus at least 6. Then any C action of the mapping class group of S on the circle is trivial. The techniques used in the proof of this result permit us to show that products of Kazhdan groups and certain lattices cannot have C faithful actions on the circle. We also prove that for n ≥ 6,...
متن کاملMapping Class Group Actions on Quantum Doubles
We study representations of the mapping class group of the punctured torus on the double of a finite dimensional possibly non-semisimple Hopf algebra that arise in the construction of universal, extended topological field theories. We discuss how for doubles the degeneracy problem of TQFT’s is circumvented. We find compact formulae for the S±1-matrices using the canonical, non degenerate forms ...

Let S be a closed oriented surface S of genus g ≥ 0 with m ≥ 0 marked points (punctures) and 3g − 3 + m ≥ 2. This is a survey of recent results on actions of the mapping class group of S which led to a geometric understanding of this group. Mathematics Subject Classification (2010). ?it is of utmost priority for an experienced teacher to train the mind of the students, and enable them to think critically and correctly. the most important question here is that how to develop such a crucial ability? this study examines a new way to the development of critical thinking utilizing critical discourse analytical tools. to attain this goal, two classes of senior english la...
Actions and irreducible representations of the mapping class group
Let G be a countable discrete group. Call two subgroups H1 and H2 of G commensurable if H1 ∩H2 has finite index in both H1 and H2. We say that an action of G on a discrete set X has noncommensurable stabilizers if the stabilizers of any two distinct points of X are not commensurable. We prove in this paper that the action of the mapping class group on the complex of curves has noncommensurable ...
